The power of the word “NO”

A few days ago, during a work meeting, we touched on the subject of this word, which is so short yet so meaningful.
Since then, I have begun to reflect on the most significant situations in which I have used it and in which I have heard it, the importance it has had in my life, and I have even relived the incredible feeling it produces.
Saying “NO” is #empowering, it is developing #self-confidence, making a decision that is sometimes definitive, it is setting limits and making it clear: “this is as far as I go.”
And I have to say that... it feels refreshing.
Even so, and in contrast, there are those who say that “the word ‘NO’ is the best gateway for ‘yes’ to enter, or that for our brain, saying ‘NO’ means saying ‘yes’ to something else.”
Being such a simple and clear word, how difficult it is for us to use it in so many cases. I wonder why that is. I feel that sometimes it makes us uncomfortable, even though there is no other alternative, and it shouldn't be that way.
Is it fear of being perceived as aggressive? Are we embarrassed? Do we not want to let go, even though it's not the right time to take what's being offered to us? Or is it that we find it difficult to face certain realities?
Both saying “NO” and receiving a ‘NO’ is liberating; it is an opportunity to change, to improve, and it becomes a challenge to make the next answer a “YES.”
Receiving a “NO” as an answer makes us stronger, more resilient, and even confronts us with ourselves and makes us aware of who we are and what we are capable of.
And in agreement with what Juan Antonio Díaz Humanes says, I want to emphasize that “a ‘NO’ will always be more accurate than a lie or a half-truth. Because a ‘NO’ conveys sincerity, #trust, seriousness, and consistency, and that is why we should not be afraid of it.”
#SocialSelling is a #different #way of doing #things.
